Killing Us Softly

Killing Us Softly: Advertising’s Image of Women by Jean Kilbourne is on its 4th edition as of 2010. This documentary series chronicles the negative portrayals of women in advertising and the media. Kilbourne investigates the effects of sexist and misogynistic messages on women’s health. Overall, it’s another perfect movie for a media studies course or body image/eating disorder awareness program on-campus.
